I am sure our prairie friends and neighbours east of us might find my complaint amusing as I am sure they suffer much worse. But we can learn from them :)
Things to remember:
Make sure your hands and skin are dry before heading outside.
Avoid liquid soaps as they are drying.
Use a moisturising cream daily to protect skin.
Apply an oil or moisturizer than a protective barrier like shea butter or lanolin.
Protect your lips with a balm or lip gloss.
Wear gloves and scarves.
Try to avoid extreme temperatures.
Treat cracked skin with zinc oxide based ointments.
My moms favorite thing to treat all sorts of cuts burns etc. was Ozonol, which I use on my children if their skin cracks, diaper ointment works well too. And as she would say, "cheer up things could be worse, so I cheered up and sure enough they were." It is only November... I am sure it will get a little colder. Here to staying warm!
